Demand for spun yarns is improving in China, in line with favorable seasonal trends. Yarn prices are however declining, once again, due to a fall of fiber prices. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Cotton prices have stayed firm in India when they were falling in the last seven days on the international and Chinese markets. As a result, Indian spinners may find it increasingly difficult to compete. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab).
