According to white paper from BIO, proposal to slash use of biofuels in 2014, if left unchanged, would increase emissions of greenhouse gases next year. BIO's Brent Erickson, lead author, noted that "Increased biofuel use is necessary to continue to achieve year-over-year reductions in carbon emissions in the transportation sector." Erikson also added that actions would limit availability of cellulosic and advanced biofuels as substitute for foreign oil from "unstable nations."
