In comments submitted to EPA on proposed Regulation of Fuels and Fuel Additives: 2013 Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS), BIO said it believes limits to market access for biofuels (the blendwall) "represent barriers contrived by obligated parties to prevent biofuels from gaining access to the marketplace." BIO emphasized that continued and stable implementation of RFS provides companies developing advanced and cellulosic biofuels confidence that U.S. fuel market will remain open. New York Renewable Power Plan Would Cost $382 Billion by 2030
2013-04-08 07:45:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Bloomberg: New York would need about $382 billion and wind turbines covering an area equivalent to 13 percent of the states land mass if it followed a Cornell University plan to derive all of its power from renewables. Robert Howarth, a Cornell ecology professor, suggested last month the state could get half its power from wind and enough from solar, tidal and other forms of clean energy to replace fossil fuels by 2030. The plan for 254 gigawatts of generation capacity would cost about $1.5 million a megawatt,...
Researchers generate hydrogen from any plant, creating safe, renewable energy
2013-04-04 21:20:42| Extremetech
As time moves on and technology advances, we're not only using finite resources to power our daily lives, but we're adding new and powerful devices to our routines. Those new and powerful devices soak up more power than zero devices would, and our main sources of energy are finite to begin with, so at some point we'll need a new reliable source. Now, a team of researchers has figured out a way to extract significant amounts of hydrogen from any plant, setting up a new source of environmentally friendly energy.
