For our activities in ECSAT, we are currently looking for a Telecommunications Systems Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities As successful candidate you will deliver support to the Future Projects Division. The following tasks are required Assessment of new concepts and techniques to be applied to next generation satellite communication systems for both space and ground segment Monitoring and assessing the need and commercial potential for future satellite telecommunication missions and systems Support the initiating and managing prospective studies on new mission concepts and architectures Analysis, definition, initiation and management of industrial activities associated to new projects in the telecommunication satellite system domain Analysing and preparing proposals for new telecommunication satellite telecommunication projects, including the definition of mission requirements Definition of all the elements endtoend associated to the missionsystem architecture of new telecommunication satellite projectssystems. Assessment and analysis of the best concepts and technical solutions to meet the defined mission and system requirements. Assessment of the potential and benefits at system level of new techniquestechnologies. Perform tradeoffs between different conceptstechnologies to optimize the endtoend system Support activities related to system studies and Phases A of new telecommunication satellite projects Preparation of inputs to status reports Acquire and maintain endtoend system engineering expertise for the development of new telecommunication satellite system concepts and in new ESA ProjectsProgrammes. Requirements You should bring a University degree or equivalent qualification in Physics or Engineering and significant demonstrated industrial experience in satellite telecommunication systems design, including substantial experience in satellite payload, platform or telecommunication endtoend system engineering. Furthermore specific experience in broadband or mobile satellite telecommunication systems is considered a valuable asset. The following skills would be highly desirable Specific experience in broadband or mobile satellite telecommunication systems is considered a valuable asset Industrial experience in the space segment payload, RF, optical, ground segment or in institutionalsecure satellite communications domain Management of development contracts for satellite payload equipment Experience with the design, analysis, qualification, testing and implementation of satellite payload equipment for telecommunication satellites. Telecommunications Satellite System Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities The Platform Engineer will be responsible for the daytoda monitoring of the design and integration of the spacecraft platform The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the platform is designed, manufactured, assembled and tested and performs in accordance with the requirements of the contract Performassess tradeoffs of payload architecture and interfaces and platform operational requirements Participate in platform testing Support operations activities including procedure review, database preparation, and during LEOP and inorbit operations.
