EPSSG System Design Engineer 1313053 Job Description The activities for this consultancy will focus on the establishing and maintaining system design justifications, system design, tradeoffs, and system budgets. Specific separate Instrument Functional Chain Teams IFCT are being established to ensure that each instrument chain is addressed in an endtoend fashion for Radiometric, Spectral and Geolocation aspects. The primary focus of this key person will be on system aspects not covered by the IFCT however participation in and support to the IFCTs is foreseen. The tasks and responsibilities of the key person to be undertaken during the EPSSG EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation Phase B will typically include the following Analysis and justification of the system design. Provide input to the system design justification document, especially concerning end to end performance aspects. Identify all system areas that require a budget to be maintained. Perform an apportionment between Space and Ground segments and any other element involved Control and document all technical budgets in accordance with ECSS standards. The key person shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Fluency in English.
