The role of Graduate Systems engineer is based in the Terminals Engineering Group approx. 20 engineers which is responsible for the research of and the subsequent design, development and support to the creation of stateoftheart Satellite Terminals technologies. To reflect this breadth, the groups remit is equally wideranging enabling the successful candidate to become proficient in many technical and nontechnical areas that are the bedrock of a successful career. Examples are system design, link budgets , Terminals RF analysis and subsystem specification and selection , as well as presenting to technical and nontechnical audiences. On joining the Terminals group, you can expect to undertake a variety of tasks including but not limited to Endtoend communications system design and development including performance analysis,e.g. data rate capacity QoS performance System and ground terminal system design studies RF systems performance analysis Interface review and definition, e.g. RF Interfaces and functional interfaces with Control and Management systems, modems and antenna systems. Requirements capture and analysis System specification development and system subelement specification Generation of terminal and system subelement test strategy development and Validation, Verification and Test plan and procedure documentation Verification and validation evidence management Developing test procedures and driving improvements Technical subcontract management As the successful candidate, you will have At a minimum, a 22 degree or equivalent in Communications System Engineering, Engineering, Electronics, Science, Mathematics or related subject. Strong analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A methodical approach to the work with sufficient commitment and drive to see the task through even where adverse conditions are encountered. Team working. Experience of working direct with others and will be able to demonstrate a capability of presenting ideas and concepts to the customer. The ability to efficiently organise and coordinate their work with the ability to provide innovative solutions and to communicate them. This role will be based in Portsmouth and will receive the full Airbus Defence Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of 27,000, plus a welcome payment of 2,000.
