May, Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology and NIST Director, spoke during the dedication of new national laboratory facility created to support USA's digital economy through advanced cybersecurity. As public-private partnership launched by NIST in 2013, National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence's (NCCoE) new facility in Rockville, MD provides 5X laboratory space previously available for collaborative advanced information technology projects.

Safety alert issued by FAA to commercial passenger and cargo airlines urges them to conduct safety risk assessment to manage risks regarding transportation of lithium batteries as cargo. Also, guidance issued by FAA to its own inspectors helps them determine whether airlines have adequately assessed risk of handling and carrying lithium batteries as cargo. Safety risk assessment process further helps airlines that don't carry lithium batteries from inadvertently accepting them for transport.
