ACTIVITIES The Engineer will have the following responsibilities Participate in the definition and maintenance of the TSS reference architecture for the Ground Segment Mission Control Applications Support the Mission Control Applications requirements engineering processes Support the generation of the architectural system level design Support the production of design models Support the definition and implementation of all interfaces between the elements of the Mission Control Applications and other elements Incorporate the reuse of Mission Control Applications kernel products in the Ground segment requirements and design Support the New Mission PhaseCD activities including applications implementation and IVV andacceptance. PROFILE The Engineer shall have a University degree ina relevant engineering discipline. The Engineer shall demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the area of specification, design, implementation and maintenance of Mission Control Applications. The Engineer shall have skills and experience in the following mandatory areas 1. Domain Skills Experience minimum 3 years in the definition of system requirements and production of system architectural design artefacts in the domain of the Mission Control Applications of a Ground Segment Experience minimum 3 years in the definition of requirements and architectural design for the following individual subsystems Satellite Monitoring Control, Mission Planning and Flight Dynamics Experience minimum 3 years in software maintenance and evolution of Satellite Monitoring Control Systems based on MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC. In particular experience in the telemetry and commanding chains, archive and automation components is considered mandatory Knowledge and understanding with actual working experience of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS concerning spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Mission Control Systems such as ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard PUS, CCSDS Space Packet Protocol SPP and CCSDS Space Link Extension Protocol SLE. 2. Software Development, Verification Maintenance Skills Extensive experience minimum 5 years in the full cycle of development of Mission Control Applications following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design, implementation, corrective and evolutive maintenance activities. Experience minimum 3 years in IVV integration, verification and validation activities for Mission Control Applications following formal engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, system and subsystem integration, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports and anomaly tracking. It would be a distinct advantage for the Engineer to have knowledge andor experience with some of the following 3. Domain Skills Experience with Mission Control Applications for LEO spacecraft. Experience with Satellite Simulators. 4. Technology Skills IBM DOORS requirement management Tool. Vitech CORE Systems Engineering Tool. Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect Tool. Linux Operating System. Data model design for RDBMS. XML processing schema design, validation, parser libraries, transformation XSLT and XPath. Eclipse Rich Client Platform applications development and maintenance. Experienceusing tools for the automation of software testing. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language, together with good communication skills. Close Date 27102014
