Job description This mission is in the spatial domain and is for the definition and implementation of a Satellite control center. Therefore we are searching for a SW architecture engineer for complex commandcontrol systems Activities Suggest system architectures improvement for software Analyze and study new requirements to identify the best solutions Drive transverse studies on software level and particularly on reliability, availability, performances and deployment strategy. Identify improvement proposals of the solution The mission is located in Toulouse France Responsibilities The architect as leader and expert has to support the conception and development teams insure the exhaustively and the consistency of the system architecture dossier Define and pilot the technical roadmap of the solution to take into account the integration of new functionalities and the need to anticipate the needs for technical evolutions of components in the architecture Qualifications Competencies In his role the candidate should have a good experience as architect of commandcontrol andor control centers in industry. The candidate must have significant experience in this type of position or similar. The candidate must have a solid knowledge of the software architectures and associated design methodologies Mandatory skills Architectures of complex commandcontrol systems in a critical industrial environment Mastering distributed asynchronous architectures on an SOA Actors model in a multiplatform environment Knowledge of the technologies below is a prerequisite Langages C, python Object andor Javascript Technical components communication middleware ZeroMq, .., NoSQL databases, Distributed cache systems. Summary An experienced and knowledgeable Senior JAVA Software Engineer required to write astronomical software for the Gaia missions Science Operations Centre at ESAC. Objective ESAs Gaia mission is designed to create an accurate and complete astrometric catalogue which will serve for decades to come. The data processing and catalogue creation is carried out by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium DPAC formed by around 400 individuals and six main data processing centres distributed across Europe. The Gaia SOC at ESAC is an integral part of DPAC and plays a key role in designing the overall system architecture and developing and operating parts of the Core Processing systems viz. Initial Data Treatment IDT, First Look FL, and the Astrometric Global Iterative Solution. This position is for a scientific software engineer to continue development of the SOC software and act as an authority for the design and structure of the software provided by institutes and universities external to ESAC. Responsibilities Duties Develop and maintain modules, applications and tools for the generation and quality checking of scientific data products.
