Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Contributing to the preparation of the Space Segment User Manual SSUM and Procedures including command, telemetry, design and operational concept descriptions, identification of operational constraints and definition of ground monitoring, flight control and contingency recovery procedures Maintenance of the SSUM and Procedures following the Spacecraft Integrator Change Control process Review of the Flight Operations Plan Provision of operations support during Spacecraft AITAIV including maintenance of validation status logs Provision of customer support during System and Operational Validation Tests preparation and execution Provision of input data needed for build of flight software versions Provision of inputs to the satellite data base Participation in formal reviews including SSUM, spacecraft, equipment and subsystem reviews. Tasks The Key person shall work in the Operations and Services to Users Department as a member of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team. The key person shall be assigned and trained to provide operations expertise and support to one or more platform subsystems and or payload instruments, depending on his or her experience and the overall team needs. The key person shall be required to support operations during normal working hours, as well as support the oncall operations engineer rota, such that safe and efficient operations are ensured by the Spacecraft Operations Team on a 247 basis. The tasks of the Key person will typically include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite Simulator and ground segment operations interfaces. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional Analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity in ESTEC and Industry Support the coordination of partner agency interactions for relevant subsystemsinstruments Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces. Essential requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a demonstrated experience in at least two of the following Spacecraft monitor and control operations Spacecraft operations preparation engineering Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level.
