Propulsion Engineer launch vehicle Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities Support the system development activities related to stage, engine and fluid control equipment Support of propulsion system activities considering the technical coherence with the stage system Generate interface documents Establish of stage system specification and contribute to subsystem specification, especially for engine and functional propulsion Performance of concept studies for new and innovative propulsion systems Performance of engineering analysis of existing propulsion systems and application of these models for functional analysis Establishment of mathematical models of stage propulsion systems and application of these models for functional analysis Hydraulic and fluid dynamic analysis and characterization of FCE flow control electronics Analysis of fuelling and pressurization of complex of mono or bipropellant systems. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in any relevant subject Several years of experience in space environment and in propulsion engineering Experience in propulsion system engineering, mathematical modelling of propulsion systems and components, CFD computational fluid dynamics experience, analyses of propulsion systems, experience with development of engines and propulsion system equipment Ability to work in a team environment Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. The successful applicant will join the Functional Validation, Engineering Ops Products, Space Physics Fr department. You will be in charge of developing and establishing the electric propulsion model database for a new electric propulsion system, and you will lead the engineering activities related to the electric propulsion design validation analyses and the system interaction analyses for a new Telecom satellite application. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include being the referent within the project electric propulsion team for all topics related to modelling Thruster Plume models, Erosioncontamination models, Plasma interactions models, etc., leading all the activities needed to establish the model database and to perform the necessary analyses In cooperationcoordination with the projectsexperts, specifying, following up on and managing the thruster Plume characterisation tests for the selected thrusters with the goal of establishing the plume models needed for interaction analyses plasma plume, EMCEMI, etc. Being responsible for the postprocessing activities of these different tests and establishing the model database using specific plasma modelling software such as SPIS, Systema, etc. Developing the performance models for the electric propulsion subsystem Supporting the activities related to spacecraftplasma interaction analyses erosion, contamination, RF impacts, charging, etc. and mastering the different analysis software SPIS, Systema, etc., working in collaboration with the Electric Propulsion and System architects and supporting the propulsion chain design analyses performances and justification files and the qualification status versus the satellite projectCustomer requirements Participating with the different satellite project reviews Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Test Review Board Interfacing with other architects in various areas mechanical, thermal, electrical, functional, software, avionics, etc. and with the validation, AIT and operations departments Supporting the RDRT activities internally or for space agencies for aspects related to thruster plasma plume interactions. This role will involve some travel for business once or twice a month mainly in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to an Engineering degree level or equivalent, 10 years of experience in modelsoftware development with demonstrated experience in plasma physics development, ideally for space projects, Knowledge of plasma modelling software like SPIS, Initial experience in project management, Ability to interface with different technical areas e.g. mechanicalthermalelectricalfunctionalenvironmental, etc., Autonomous approach and leadership skills, Meticulous, flexible, good communication skills and the ability to summarise Ability to work within a team environment, Ability to lead, coordinate and manage a team within a project organisation, Advanced level of English and intermediate level of French. Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer Architect

A vacancy for a Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Design of chemical propulsion system architecture concepts. Analysis of propulsion system performance at sub system and system level for both commercial telecoms and ESA satellite programmes. You will be required to generate propulsion system specifications and perform propulsion design, performance and analysis for chemical propulsion systems. Preparation of spacecraft system test plans, test requirement preparation, verification analysis including FMECA, design verification matrices and assessing test results. Concurrent engineering with system level interfaces mainly in the structural, thermal control, integration and test, attitude control and mission analysis disciplines. You will be responsible for technical documents and presentations in support of project technical reviews. You will be the author and owner of propulsion system technical specifications Electromechanical components, pressure vessels, Design, Manufacture and Integration therefore responsible for the qualified definition and subsequent changes to it. As such you will be accountable for review and approval of the AsBuilt and its compliance with the AsDesign standard, including review and acceptance of equipmentsubsystem test results, review of end item data packs and final technical acceptance of propulsion subsystem and justification to the end satellite customer. You will be responsible to develop and implement department toolsprocess improvement strategy in conjunction with objectives defined by management. As the Work Area Manager WAM for a given project you will be responsible for Onquality, OnTime and On Cost of the propulsion subsystem. In addition you will be responsible for spacecraft flight operations monitoring. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Spacecraft Propulsion Design. Proven experience with Fluids System Design is mandatory. Propulsion Test Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Production Department, you will be responsible for the Approval and development of Tests for Space hardware components valves, valves assembly, and mechanical components with emphasis on Autonomous test design and independent draft and realisation of test organization Participation to test procedures creation and revision Independent test preparation and execution, including test guidance and post processing structural components with several functions and connections Verification of the test results plausibility and test results documentation, including data base processing according to the customers needs Preparation, revision and processing of test bench descriptions and maintenance timetable of test equipment Organize and conduct maintenance work at the test facility and for test equipment Feasibility studies and effort calculation for additionalspecial tests Observation and Compliance to ITARRegulations.
