Spacecraft Propulsion System Engineer United Kingdom 1 Year Fixed Term Contract Overview My customer are looking for a dynamic and motivated Space Propulsion Engineer to support the current development of their first Geostationary Telecoms Spacecraft Propulsion Engineers for my client are responsible for the design, manufacture, testing, launch preparation and inorbit commissioning of their propulsion systems. This holistic oversight is a rare opportunity for an Engineer who relishes variety and the combination of practical contact with hardware alongside analytical design work. In addition to delivering commercial programmes, exciting development activities are underway at including design of novel green propulsion systems, high power resistojet designs, additive layer manufacturing 3D printing and low cost electric propulsion systems. Key Purpose of Job To work within the propulsion group, in the GMPT propulsion development team. Key Tasks Detailed design and subsystem analysis to include pressurant analysis, fluidic simulationsflow characterisation, LAE performance propellant static and dynamic residuals, onstation thruster performance, propellant gauging analysis and support to susbsystem thermal and plume impingement analysis. Assembly and testing of the propulsion systems Support component system acceptance testing, defining pressure electrical test setups including the software interface via Labview or similar Definition of thermal requirements Interface Control Documents Design support for the Propulsion Controller requirements definition Produce detailed mathematical modelling tools for the bipropellant subsystem validate by test Plan and carry out development testing Flow characterisation, waterhammer, regulator testing Produce the required subsystem analysis test reports Knowledge, Skills and Experience Qualifications Good Degree level in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering Experience Knowledge Skills Positive Enthusiastic Organised and conscientious, high attention to detail Experience in design analysis of MMHMON bipropellant propulsion systems Good all round knowledge of rocket propulsion systems, with an understanding of the functionality of thrusters, valves, regulators, etc. Good analytical skills with experience of mathematical modelling simulation software A good understanding and handson experience of propulsion test GSE and test instrumentation, including set up programming An appreciation of Electronics and Electrical Engineering Writing detailed reports, and presenting at internal peer reviews and external customer reviews Software Skills Competent in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word Powerpoint Project Essential LabView, Matlab, Ansys, EcoSimPro Useful

Our client in Germany is looking for Engineer for the Satellite Mechanical, Thermal and Propulsion Engineer to work on one or several of their projects. This is a good long term consultancy role and would suit an engineer with a good mechanical, Thermal and propulsion background within the space industry. Role Description Input on a bid MTP related and to work on the ESA project and others after the bidding process is completed. Responsible for the MTP integrity, thus for system level activities including requirements engineering, mechanical configuration, structural design, thermal design and performance and propulsion design. Familiar with calculations on reflector array technology. Some control of mechanical, thermal and propulsion engineering budgets Definition, planning and control of the mechanical, structural and thermal analysis to be performed in cooperation with the specific discipline specialists. Definition, planning and control of MTP verification, including specification of test requirements control of mechanical and thermal interfaces for satellite and systems. Coordination with the Lead System Engineer. Leading of an engineering team within the project, including management of subcontractors involved in system level activities. Required Skills Degree in Mechanical engineering, Physics or comparable qualification. Several years of professional experience in space industry as MPT System Engineer or in similar position. Specialised knowledge in the fields of satellite structures, thermal control and propulsion subsystems preferably biprop systems as well as analysis. Additionally conversance with structural, thermal and orbit dynamics analysis tools e.g. NASTRAN, ESARADESATAN, Ecosim Pro. Several years of experience in a CD satellite project. Ideally, experience in ESA satellite development projects. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills. Strong capability of leading engineering teams with well developed communication skills.

One of our Space clients is looking for an experienced space electrical propulsion engineer to work initially in Italy but also with the possibility of working in the UK on a long term contract. Required Experience Experience of design and subsystem analysis on propulsion systems. Experience of Pressurant analysis not required. Background in simulations and or flow characterisation. Experienced in the assembly and testing of the propulsion systems.
