Consultancy Support for EPSSG System Test tools test data 1313043 Job Description The selected keyperson would be a member of the EPSSG EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation System Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division LEO at EUMETSAT. HeShe will typically be involved in tasks related to test tools test data, with focus on tools data required for verification and validation VV of instrument data processing chains. Tools can serve for example the purpose of test data generation manipulation reformatting, test data injection into the ground segment and test data collection analysis. Typical tasks include Identification of the suite of test tools and test data required to support VV activities, and definition of development procurement approach and associated planning. Preparation of User Requirement Documents, Statements of Work, etc., as needed as input for development andor procurement activities. Support for inhouse development and validation of test tools and their maintenance. Support for procurements of test tools test data, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance tests. Support for acceptance of test tools test data provided by partners. Simulation of test data sets for VV using available tools. Compilation of test data sets using real data from satellite instrument onground tests or inorbit operation. In case of tools to be connected to the ground segment, input for the specification and test of relevant interfaces. Support for configuration management of tools test data sets, using applicable EUMETSAT processes. Operation of the tools, or support for it, when used for system and ground segment VV activities. Contributions to the analysis of test results and the preparation of test reports. In addition the keyperson will be involved in some more general tasks Participation in relevant internal and external meetings. Regular review of System level documentation dealing with requirements, system concepts, architecture and design, technical analyses, to identify information of importance for test tools test data. In addition, and with the same aim, analysis of documents provided by other teams in EUMETSAT and by external partners. Support for the preparation of documentation for System level reviews, during the covered period the System Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review. Required Skills and Experience University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent. At least 5 years of general experience with the development of onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation. At least 5 years of direct involvement in VV activities for instrument processing chains, including production of test tools and of test data. At least 5 years of experience with software specification, design and development and relevant standards. Very good skills in higher programming languages, such as Fortran, CC, Java. Able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. The Key person shall have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Fluency in English Desirable Skills and Experience Knowledge of French.
