Bangladesh leads US apparel import growth in September

Apparel imports into the US continued on their upward trajectory in September, with seven of the top ten supplier countries booking year-on-year growth. Bangladesh led the pack, posting a solid double-digit gain, with strong increases also recorded by Indonesia, Vietnam, and Pakistan.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Demand for yarns is currently depressed in China by slowing down textile and apparel production. Demand for foreign yarns could even drop in coming weeks, although import prices remain very competitive. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.

UPDATE 1-China more than doubles 2016 non-state crude import quota to 1.75 mln bpd

China has more than doubled its non-state crude oil import quota for 2016 to 87.6 million tonnes, or 1.75 million barrels per day , as Beijing seeks to boost competition and attract private investment in its oil industry. The 2016 quota issued by the Ministry of Commerce on Friday compared to this year's figure of 37.6 million tonnes.

Fincher’s (R-Tenn.) bill in the House marks an important step in reauthorizing the Export Import Bank of the United States. ExIm Bank is a valuable tool supporting exports in the aerospace and defense industry. We are relieved that common sense has prevailed and the majority has found a way – even using the unconventional "discharge" process – to express its will.
