Main responsibilities You will provide prime support to the Comms Team and will contribute to the requirements specification, design and development of Comms Systems, including the setting up of the related maintenance arrangements and processes. You will assume and maintain the following roles and responsibilities within the Team Ownership of customer communications systems needs Prime interface and point of contact for ensuring customers needs are understood and translated to technical specifications and constraints Owning the responsibility to identify gaps between what the customer requires and the policy and technical constraints that may need to be mitigated e.g. security policy adherence Leading the rollout of customer solutions within the project programme and being the liaison between the Comms Team and the ProjectProgramme throughout Obtaining and ensuring customer buyin and joint ownership of deliverables Ownership of the network performance and management solution delivered and the servicesolution quality delivered to the customer Actively contribute to the substantial scheduling challenge integrating the project schedule with other schedules through liaison with multiple stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met, whilst facilitating the most effective deconfliction with existing network operations for operational systems. A demonstrable ability to analyse complex systems and present them in a comprehensible way to across other technical and managerial domains, with the specific ability to understand and communicate the relevant detail whilst maintaining focus on the overall systemwide aspects Experience with estimating and scheduling of multiple concurrent technical activities such that milestones and their likely achievement can be communicated Communication skills, in terms of experience in authoring technical and project documentation, and then being able to present it to a broad audience in English. Development, Verification Maintenance Skills You should demonstrate substantial recent direct experience with all aspects of network engineering within a comparable ideally satellite ground system and ICT communications system lifecycle. This should include for example identification of needs to deployment, operations and eventual decommissioning, and explain how those skill and experience would be directly relevant to meeting the requirements of the position. Supporting examples should be provided of recent experience where such skills have been deployed. This would include experience with mature change, configuration, capacity and problem management processes and systems. Our client, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. One of their objectives is to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes.
