Rackspace Hosting Profit Rises 12%

Shares of cloud-computing company Rackspace Hosting Inc. plummeted 13% in after-hours trading Monday, after the company lowered revenue expectations for the coming quarter. Rackspace, which had closed the day at $53.13, said it expected revenue for its second quarter, which will end in June, to be between $487 million and $492 million.

The firm reiterated its "buy" rating and $9 price target on the sixth-largest U.S. steelmaker based on improved global electrical steel demand, declining iron ore costs, and better free cash flow as estimated 2015 project spending winds down. "Last week we hosted CFO Roger Newport in investor meetings with New York, where he was upbeat that the recent $20/ton price hike was sticking and more could follow," the firm wrote in a research note.

Actavis revenue rises 60% to beat estimates

Actavis PLC said Monday that its revenue rose a better-than-expected 60% in the first quarter that included the acquisition of Botox maker Allergan Inc. Dublin-based Actavis completed its acquisition of Allergan in March, closing the biggest deal from 2014 and ending one of the year's more dramatic takeover battles. The deal made Actavis one of the world's largest drug makers by sales, offering a range of eye, skin and stomach drugs.
