2015-06-24 03:37:56| Oil & Gas - Topix.net
The shutdown of a pipeline that spilled up to 101,000 gallons of crude on the Santa Barbara coast forced Exxon Mobil Corp. to halt operations at three offshore platforms because it couldn't deliver oil to refineries, the company said Tuesday. The company temporarily ceased operations last week after Santa Barbara County rejected its emergency application to truck oil to refineries, spokesman Richard Keil said.

Judge to Consider Suspending New Federal Drilling Rules
2015-06-23 00:24:49| Oil & Gas - Topix.net
A judge in Casper, Wyoming, is about to consider whether to suspend new rules for oil and gas drilling on federal land until a lawsuit contesting those rules can be resolved. Four states and two petroleum industry groups are suing the U.S. Interior Department, saying the rules announced in March duplicate state rules and could prove unnecessarily burdensome for the oil and gas industry.
