A crash near Costco and Stew Leonards in Yonkers Jan. 8 sent a state trooper and a New City man to the hospital, reports News 12. Police said the officer was going north around 9:30 a.m., then made a U-turn to head south on Interstate 87, according to News 12 Westchester. A Honda came out of an EZ-Pass lane on the southbound side of the Thruway and struck the trooper's vehicle, reports News 12 Westchester The driver of the Honda, 31, is facing a traffic violation.

Woman who died in Christmas Day crash identified

A 78-year-old woman who had a fatal heart attack on Christmas which led to the vehicle she was in running off the road and crashing into a signal box, was identified Sunday by the county medical examiner. Patricia Born of San Diego was the restrained front-seat passenger in a Lexus sedan driven by her husband.

She doesn't know how she ended up in her car that night, driving the wrong way across Interstate 70 in Montgomery County, 50 miles east of her home. She can't recall the head-on crash that killed Thomas David Sullivan II, a 35-year-old worker at the General Motors plant in Kansas City, as he made a regular weekend trip home to the St. Louis area to see his sons, 4 and 7. She doesn't remember a minor crash she apparently caused a half hour earlier, at 3 a.m., in Callaway County on the same highway.
