The man was seen lying near the tracks in the vicinity of Oak and Washington avenues but rolled into the path of an approaching northbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train around 2 a.m., according to sheriff's Deputy Amber Reeves.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says a Boston-bound Amtrak train has struck and killed a person on the tracks in Connecticut. The New York-based commuter rail, subway and bus agency says the death occurred at the Stratford Metro-North station at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
