Moody's: SK Telecom's share buyback is credit negative

Moody's Investors Service says that SK Telecom's announcement of a share buyback is credit negative but will not affect the company's A3 issuer and senior unsecured bond ratings or stable outlook. On 24 September, SK Telecom said that it would buy back 2.02 million shares worth KRW523 billion, a slightly higher amount than the 1.71 million treasury shares it used to acquire the remaining 49.44% stake in SK Broadband earlier this year.

Texas Instruments raises dividend, OKs stock buyback plan

Chipmaker Texas Instruments said Thursday it will buy back up to another $7.5 billion in stock and raise its quarterly dividend 12 percent. The Dallas-based company also had $1.8 billion remaining on its previous stock buyback authorization at the end of June.

Advanced Energy plans $150M stock buy-back

Advanced Energy Industries Inc. on Wednesday announced plans to repurchase up to $150 million of its common stock over the next 30 months as part of a larger capital deployment strategy. Officials for the company outlined a four-pronged capital deployment strategy that includes: organic investment to grow its semiconductor business; acquisitions to increase the company's market share with a focus on industrial products and applications; share repurchases; and a more flexible capital structure.
