The primary areas of responsibility for this position are Orbit Determination, Prediction and Products Generation for Earth Observation Mission in the ESOC Flight Dynamics operations team. TASKS The engineer will be primarily assigned to a particular service within the Earth Observation Missions but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. Orbit Determination, Prediction and Products Generation Processing of tracking data Execution of and support to operational tasks Determination and prediction of spacecraft orbital state Execution of and support to operational tasks Generation of orbit related products such as orbit event predictio Operations Coordination Coordination of critical operations support e.g. during LEOP and commissioning phase in cooperation with the Flight Control Team and user representatives Coordination of routine operations support in cooperation with the Flight Control Team and user representatives Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Participation in tests Setup procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities PROFILE University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Skills to apply their knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Unix andor Linux scripting languages, Fortran 77 andor 95, C Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to work independently Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks Experience dealing with external interfaces Experience with OracleSolaris andor Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. The working language for the position is English and therefore the keyperson must be able to work effectively in this language. Flight from GR to Chicago lands safely after frightening mechanical problems

A representative with The Department of Aviation said that United Airlines Flight 3645 experienced "mechanical problems" while on it's path to People that were on the flight were told the landing gear in the front of the plane did not deploy properly- forcing the pilot to land the plane without it.

A United Airlines flight from Denver to Kansas City landed safely after it was forced to return to Denver International Airport on Saturday after one of its tires blew on takeoff. Airport officials say the plane, a de Havilland Dash 8-400, circled to burn off fuel before making a successful landing at 11 a.m. A United Airlines plane blew two tires while taxiing Thursday morning at Lambert Airport in St. Louis .
