Threat delays Dallas-bound airline flight in San Diego

A Southwest Airlines flight has left San Diego's Lindbergh Field after a bomb threat prompted a search of the plane that turned up no explosives. San Diego County Regional Airport Authority spokeswoman Rebecca Bloomfield says the Dallas-bound flight left an hour and 15 minutes behind schedule Tuesday after investigators cleared it for takeoff.

This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. PROFILE In addition to having a University degree in a relevant engineering discipline the Engineer shall have skills and experience in software maintenance, evolution and testing with the following mandatory areas Domain Skills Experience minimum 3 years in the design, development andor customisation of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems in the context of LEO missions. System Development Maintenance Skills Experience minimum 3 years in the full cycle of development of application software, preferably for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems, following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design and implementation reflecting maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. Experience minimum 3 years in corrective maintenance, integration and verification testing activities of application software for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems following formal software engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, generation oftest plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, and anomaly tracking, investigation, correction and testing. Software Engineering Skills Experience minimum 3 years in designing and developing software components and applications using Object Oriented 00 approach including design patterns. Experience minimum 3 years in designing and developing software applications using Java and related technologies. Experience minimum 3 years in developing software applications using Eclipse SDE Smart Development Environment and related projects and addons. It would be a distinct advantage for the Engineer to have knowledge andor experience with some of the following Domain Skills Experience with software development and maintenance of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems and Tools based on the ESAESOC NAPEOS Navigation Package for Earth Observation Satellite Experience with software development and maintenance of Tools using the Orekit space dynamics library. Knowledge of Satellite Mission Control Systems. Knowledge of Mission Planning Systems. Experience with software support to operations for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems. System Maintenance Skills Experience in being the technical point of contact for contractors working at offsite premises and responsible for application software evolution and maintenance. Software Technology Skills Experience with developing software applications using FORTRAN. IBM DOORS requirement management tool. Experience in version Control Systems CVS and SVN. Linux Operating System. Unified Modelling Language UML for software design. Experience in the usage of software CASE design tools e.g. Enterprise Architect andor MagicDraw. Experience in designing and developing software client applications using Eclipse as HMI framework Rich Client Platform. Experience using tools for the automation of software testing. Experience with static and dynamic software analysis tools in support to testing and troubleshooting. Experience in designing and developing component based software applications using formal techniques e.g. OSGi. Experience in developing software applications using interfaces to relational database management systems RDBMS and experience with data model design for RDBMS. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Preventive and corrective maintenanceincluding the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes. Maintenance test proceduresgeneration and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level. Support and development of the verification infrastructuredevelopment andor procurement of scripts I tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, delivery acceptance and installation onsite.This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation to technical reviews, participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns.This activity includes preparation of test data, rwming the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems. User Support Software support software support to the endusers of the application software. Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. Trainingprepare and provide training covering usage and maintenance aspects of the application software. Technical Management Documentationgeneration and updates of technical documents. Meeting participationparticipation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. Routine reportingpreparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Technical point of contact for maintenance contractorsacting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Boston JetBlue flight searched after threat, nothing found

A JetBlue flight has returned to the gate before takeoff from Boston because of an unspecified threat, but authorities say nothing hazardous has been found. Massachusetts state police spokesman David Procopio says passengers were taken off Flight 321 to Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday night.

2 planes evacuated in Seattle, 3rd flight diverted to Dallas

Two planes have been evacuated on arrival at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport due to what a spokesman called a "security concern." Airport spokesman Perry Cooper says a JetBlue flight from Long Beach, California, and a regional SkyWest jet from Phoenix were the planes involved.
