MPIC seeks European partner for airport bids

Infrastructure giant Metro Pacific Investments Corp. is in talks with a European company in its bid to land its first airport Public-Private Partnership project. Manuel V. Pangilinan, MPIC chairman, told reporters that their prospective partner prefers to bid for the five regional airport projects worth P108.2 billion as a single bundle.

SEC sues over alleged hoax Avon, Rocky Mountain bids

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday accused a Bulgarian man and several other defendants of submitting bogus takeover bids for Avon Products Inc and two other companies to fraudulently drive up their share prices. The complaint against Nedko Nedev, a firm calling itself PTG Capital Partners and others was filed in Manhattan federal court three weeks after Avon shares shot up 20 percent in intraday trading on May 14, when PTG claimed to have offered to buy the cosmetics company for $18.75 per share, a 181 percent premium.

German spectrum bids top EUR 2 bln

(Telecompaper) The Federal Network Agency announced that Telekom Deutschland, Vodafone Germany and Telefonica Deutschland's bids have surpassed EUR 2 billion in the current spectrum auction. At the beginning of the auction on 27 May the bids were at EUR 1.28 billion. At the last frequency auction five years ago, Telekom, Vodafone, E-Plus and Telefonica bid in total EUR 4.4 billion.

Oman Rail invites bids for 1,200km of new rail infrastructure
