ZTE returns to profit in Q3 as business resumes after US ban

(Telecompaper) ZTE reported a return to net profit in the third quarter, ending the losses of the first half of the year from the US ban on business with the company. The Chinese company reported a net profit of CNY 564 million, on revenues of CNY 19.3 billion for the three months to September. ZTE said it also increased R&D investment to 17.9 percent of revenue, from 11.2 percent a year ago, equal to a total CNY 3.47 billion in spending.

Bharti Airtel net profit falls 65% on continued slide in Indian mobile market

(Telecompaper) Bharti Airtel reported another drop in results for the fiscal second quarter to September, as regulatory price cuts and competitive pressure in the Indian mobile market offset growth in customer numbers. Revenues fell 6 percent year-on-year to INR 204.2 billion, and EBITDA was down 20.7 percent to INR 21 percent to INR 63.4 billion.

Twitter posts big increase in Q3 profit while monthly users continue to fall

(Telecompaper) Twitter reported a strong increase in third-quarter results, with better-than-expected EBITDA and a big net profit thanks to a tax asset gain. Daily active users of the service rose 9 percent, while monthly active users were again lower, as the company worked on preventing "unhealthy" users from accessing the platform.
