Orange launches Sanza Touch smartphone in Africa

(Telecompaper) Orange has announced the launched of the Sanza Touch to Africa. The smartphone aims to improve mobile internet access and is supported by Google, building upon efforts since the launch of Android Go edition in 2018. The device will retail at around USD 30, which is intended to make it the most accessible on the market.

Samsung releases more affordable S20 5G 'Fan Edition' smartphone

(Telecompaper) Samsung is releasing a more affordable version of its flagship S20 smartphone with 5G. The new 'Fan Edition', which comes with some of the favourite features of the S20, is available for USD 699, compared to the launch price of USD 999 for the standard edition.

LG unveils Wing smartphone with swivel screen and dual displays

(Telecompaper) LG has unveiled its new premium smartphone, the LG Wing. The first model in its Explorer project to develop new form factors, the Wing screen can swivel out from the body to reveal a second screen below. The double screens are expected to support new forms of mobile productivity and entertainment.

Microsoft Surface Duo: Rethinking the Smartphone

For many of us a phone should predominantly be a way to communicate and aid productivity, as opposed to being a device of distractions. Though we communicate far differently these days, and the apps we use to communicate seem to prefer larger screens. This brings us to Microsoft's Surface Duo, which has twin screens and is very different from the foldable phones with which it will compete.

LG to develop new smartphone forms under Explorer Project

(Telecompaper) LG Electronics has announced plans for a new range of devices exploring new form factors in the smartphone market. Dubbed the 'Explorer Project', the campaign will kick off with an online event by LG on 14 September. A teaser video shows a phone that splits in half to swing open and create a horizontal display mounted on the standard phone body above the keyboard. Earlier media reports said the phone is codenamed the 'Wing'.
