Reliance Jio to acquire RCom towers, fibre network, spectrum

(Telecompaper) Reliance Jio Infocomm announced it has signed a definitive agreement with Reliance Communications (RCom) for the acquisition of RCom's wireless assets. Jio has agreed to acquire towers, the fibre-optic cable network, spectrum and media convergence nodes from RCom and its affiliates. The assets are are expected to contribute significantly to the large-scale roll-out of wireless, FTTH and enterprise services by Reliance Jio Infocomm," the company said.

US outlines anti-dumping duties on polyester fibre

Deutsche Telekom closes more deals to use municipal fibre networks

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom announced it has closed a set of deals to use the fibre-optic infrastructure of five city network operators in the states of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg as part of its ongoing fibre roll-out. Telekom has signed agreements to use the infrastructure of R-Kom in Regensburg, SUEC//dacor in Coburg, SWU Telenet in Ulm, the Municipal Utilities Network of Bamberg and Telepark in Passau. The five cooperations cover a total of roughly 125,000 households, half of which are connected through municipal FTTH/FTTB lines. The remaining half are connected through VDSL via FTTC.
