The US economy added 157,000 jobs in January, slightly below forecasts, but the number of new jobs at the end of 2012 was revised up significantly, data shows.

According to Feb 1 employment report by U.S. Department of Labor, construction industry unemployment rate shot up to 16.1% in January, despite addition of 28,000 jobs. Rate marks increase from 13.5% in December 2012, but decrease from 17.7% same time last year. Year over year, construction employment has risen by 102,000 jobs, or 1.8%.
