Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. says the number of rigs exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. fell by 75 this week to 1,192 amid depressed oil prices. Baker Hughes said Friday 922 rigs were seeking oil and 268 were exploring for natural gas, with two listed as miscellaneous.

NTSB adopted safety study on integrity management of gas transmission pipelines in high-consequence areas. In said study, NTSB analyzed information from Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) data systems and other sources. Recommendations address broadened use of in-line inspection, emphasize closer state-to-state and federal-state cooperation among inspectors, and call for expanded and improved resources and guidance at federal level.
