Asian stocks began mixed Wednesday on weak lead from the U.S., with much of the focus on the start of earnings season after a tough quarter for many companies. "A sluggish U.S. session following equally weak European trade points toward a tepid start to Asian equity markets," said IG Markets strategist Bernard Aw.
