Asia Markets: Japan stocks rise, but other Asia stocks struggle after weak U.S. lead

Asian stocks began mixed Wednesday on weak lead from the U.S., with much of the focus on the start of earnings season after a tough quarter for many companies. "A sluggish U.S. session following equally weak European trade points toward a tepid start to Asian equity markets," said IG Markets strategist Bernard Aw.
