Role Description Summary You will directly report to the Senior Manager Teleport Network Engineering, for the design, implementation, and operation of IP production networks associated with Satellitebased IP platforms, Internet Backbone infrastructure, and media content contributiondistribution. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Lead the design of the SES Teleport Networks and its associated provisioning and assurance systems, including, but not limited to validation of technical requirements, assessment of platforms or vendors, and budgetary requirements. Intime implementation of the teleport networks nodes and pointsofpresence PoP in line with the design principles and business requirements Strong focus on releasing and maintaining uptodate documentation drawingsoperational procedurestroubleshooting guides. Responsible for proactive maintenance of the teleport networks, through upgrades and preventive maintenances and for reactive maintenance via Level 3 network engineering support to Network Operations staff during office hours and oncall by rotation during out of business hours Engineering and business support for sales, sales engineering, and product development teams both for Video business unit primary and Networks secondary, with a focus on customer requirements, operational efficiency, and budgetary requirements. Senior representative and lead for Teleport Network Engineering in crossfunctional and company strategic projects. Subjectmatter expert in systems and technologies deployed in the Teleport Networks, service provider, and data center best practices as well as excellent mastering of SES service and technologies portfolio. Manage allocated SES sites, hardware upgrades, and capacity planning. Qualification Experience University degree in ElectronicsEngineeringIT or equivalent At least 8 years of professional experience in IP networking and LANWAN technologies including but not limited to Layer 2 3, network architecture, and design. Thorough understanding of ISP backbone networks and associated services. Proven track record in design, implementation, and support of high availability IPMPLS networks in the Service Provider domain along with associated security, traffic management, and monitoring systems. Provide a track record of designing and supporting endtoend solutions in a service provider environment is mandatory Experience with satellitedelivered services is a considerable advantage. Very strong knowledge in OSPF, BGP, Multicast, and Unicast. Continuously building experience with other related technologies. At least 5 years of experience in Service Provider networks or Datacenter. At least 3 years of experience in Cisco IOS XEXRNXOS platforms are mandatory Building experience with Juniper platforms andor vendors. Cisco certified at a professional level Routing and Switching track mandatory CCIE RS, as well as additional vendor certifications, are encouraged. Experience with ASA or Fortinet Firewalls Understanding of authentication and authentication protocols such as TACACS, RADIUS, and LDAP and experience in managing IP Address Management tools and managing DNSDHCP servers and services. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY As a Strategic Teleport Partners Project Engineer you will manage thirdparty teleport commercial relationships in your region. You will also manage of all directly associated expenditure, budgets, overall cost control and strategy in conjunction with other key Engineering functions, Sales, Legal and Regulatory departments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Lead the site search and selection process for SES new High Throughput Satellites HTS and O3b mPower gateways Negotiate technical, commercial, and contractual terms with newly selected and existing teleport partners. Develop and maintain OPEX budget for teleports in assigned region. Includes responsibility to create purchase orders and approve invoice payments. Perform annual budget reviews. Sr. TELEPORT ENGINEER Burum, The Netherlands Castor Networks is a leading satellite service provider and teleport operator, based in the Netherlands. We provide VSAT and mobile satellite services to companies active in the Mining, Maritime and Energy industries, to NGOs and Governments. Our Broadcasting customers benefit from live audio and TV bouquet uplinks. We serve our wholesale customers with Teleport services, Virtual Network Operator VNO services, and satellite capacity leasing. Castor has offices in De Meern HQ, NL, Groningen NL, DR Congo, South Sudan, Central African Republic and Mexico. The main Teleport facility for Castor is based in Burum Netherlands, but in order to provide a global reach we also run services through a number of other owned and partnered teleports. We have a requirement for an experienced Teleport Engineer to join our Teleport facility team in Burum, The Netherlands. The teleport team works closely with a team of highly skilled professionals in a collaborative environment. The Teleport Engineer will be expected to carry out various RF ground engineering activities, necessary to provide endtoend, fixed and mobile satellite communication services. This includes implementation and maintenance of Teleport Earth Stations, VSAT Platforms and related Monitoring and Control hardware. An important objective of the teleport team is to maintain the quality and availability uptime of teleport services within the agreed SLAs service level agreements in a costeffective and flexible fast manner.
