2014-12-12 18:05:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Nature World: It's not hard to argue that the environmental activist group Greenpeace takes action with good intentions in mind. Their latest stunt, for instance, was intended to send a message about climate change to leaders and ministers at the ongoing UN climate talks in Peru. However, they treaded across a sacred and delicate world heritage site to do so, earning significant global backlash in the process. Before dawn on Monday, twenty Greenpeace activists from seven countries unfurled massive yellow letters...

2014-12-11 22:01:22| Railroads - Topix.net
Waarheid, a self-proclaimed "seeker of the unknown" and retired rail worker has hand-coded "The Claus Conspiracy" website, claiming that Santa delivers his toys via CSX rail and that the stories about the sleigh are an elaborate coverup. If you're a believer, then of course Santa uses CSX trains - how could he possibly deliver that amount of cargo without using locomotives? Or, it could all be a fun and silly way for Jacksonville-based CSX to give some laughs to its employees and engage with its customers.

Agence France-Presse: Environmental group Greenpeace apologized Wednesday after Peru accused it of damaging a millenia-old archaeological site when its activists displayed a protest banner there calling for action on climate change. The stunt at the ancient Nazca lines, enormous drawings etched in the earth some 2,000 years ago by a pre-Inca civilization, drew a furious reaction from Peru, which is currently hosting UN talks aimed at curbing global warming. Greenpeace set up large letters beside one of the designs,...
