National Public Radio: A small company in California is hoping to make a big splash by providing detailed flood maps to homeowners and insurance companies. And to do that, the company is using one of the fastest supercomputers in the world. The company is called Katrisk, based in Berkeley, Calif. The hundreds of visitors arriving on the Alaska Railroad passenger train to Seward every morning, and passing through town for the day while waiting to get on their cruise ship, or catch the evening return train, are often confused about where to go, and what to see or do. Unlike other Alaska communities with cruise ship tourism, there aren't maps of Seward or signs at or near the railroad depot telling them what Seward has to offer, or what direction to go to reach their destination.
