Vodacom Group revenue growth improves to 6.6% in Q3

(Telecompaper) Vodacom Group improved its revenue growth to 6.6 percent in the company's fiscal third quarter ended 31 December, to ZAR 23.6 billion. Service revenue rose 5.7 percent to ZAR 18.9 billion, and Vodacom said it added 2 million customers during the quarter to serve a total of 117 million, including Safaricom.

Cell C in talks to sell post-paid subscribers to Vodacom - report

(Telecompaper) Vodacom South Africa is in talks with Cell C about taking on the smaller rival's contract-paying mobile phone customers, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Vodacom would gain just over 1 million high-paying subscribers from the deal, said the people, who asked not to be identified. They said the talks are at an early stage and could falter.

Vodacom Group H1 revenue rises 3.9%

(Telecompaper) Vodacom Group revenue increased by 3.9 percent to ZAR 44.39 billion in the first six months to 30 September from ZAR 42.71 billion a year earlier, supported by group service revenue growth of 4.2 percent. The group added 2.7 million customers in South Africa and international operations and 2.7 million at Safaricom during the period, giving it a combined 115 million customers. Net profit rose by 20.8 percent to ZAR 8.19 billion from ZAR 6.79 billion in 2018.

Vodacom group revenue up 3.9% to ZAR 21.53 bln in Q1, adds 1.2 mln customers

(Telecompaper) Vodacom Group said revenue increased by 4.2 percent to ZAR 21.53 billion in the first quarter ended 30 June from ZAR 20.65 billion in the same period in 2018. Service revenue increased by 3.9 percent to ZAR 17.43 billion from ZAR 16.77 billion in 2018. Despite the impact of cyclones Idai and Kenneth in Mozambique, international service revenue increased by 19.6 percent, largely driven by a 42.7 percent increase in M-Pesa revenue and data demand.
