API Technologies' New Family Of Current Sensors/Transformers Measure A Wide Range Of Currents

2013-09-24 06:57:14| rfglobalnet News Articles

API Technologies Corp. (“API” or the “Company”), a trusted provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, recently announced the availability of its new 5300 series of current sensors and transformers that measure a wide range of AC currents by transforming them accurately from high to low measurable values.

Current Sensors/Transformers measure wide range of currents.

2013-09-23 14:31:38| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

By accurately transforming them from high to low measurable values, 5300 series measures range of AC currents. Current sensors have primary current range of 3.5–800 A and come in several types of current transformers, including low phase/high accuracy and high frequency. Current transformers have 20–100 kHz operating range and can be totally encapsulated, with or without wound primary turns and loading resistor. All products are built to meet relevant UL, ANSI, VDE, CE, and MIL standards. Unexpected interaction between ocean currents and bacteria may weaken ocean's ability to absorb carbon

2013-09-13 16:45:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed

ScienceDaily: For the first time, researchers have successfully demonstrated an interaction between ocean currents and bacteria: The unexpected interaction leads to the production of vast amounts of nitrogen gas in the Pacific Ocean. This takes place in one of the largest oxygen free water masses in the world -- and these zones are expanding. This can ultimately weaken the ocean's ability to absorb CO2. Three places in the world harbor extensive oxygen free water masses, called Oxygen Minimum Zones. In these...

NTC Thermistors withstand steady-state currents from 6-50 A.

2013-07-30 14:30:07| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Able to withstand 250–800 J of input energy, AS Series limits inrush currents for protection of pre-charge circuits in Li-ion batteries, variable-frequency drives, switch mode power supplies, and audio amplifiers. Uniform temperature gradient throughout disc combined with ability to withstand 400 A per in.² eliminates hot spots from fatigue. Ranging 30–36 mm dia,  AS Series features Hot R from 0.0074–0.380 Ω, resistance of .50–50 Ω at 25°C, and max capacitance of 500–1,730 µF at 680 Vac. GFEP Device protects equipment from line-to-ground currents.

2013-07-11 14:30:12| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Suitable for electrical networks up to 480 Vac, F200 Ground Fault Equipment Protector trips when system leaks significant current to ground, preventing potential short circuit before damage can occur. DIN rail mountable unit consists of 2 pole F202 for single phase networks, and F204 for split phase, Delta and Wye networks. F200 GFEP immediately detects ground faults by continuously measuring current balance between live conductors and neutral using toroidal current transformer.
