Fonterra faces 'substantial' drop in milk production
2015-10-16 07:56:37| Food - Topix.net
Fonterra Cooperative Group's milk production has dropped heading into the seasonal peak as suppliers to New Zealand's largest commodity exporter respond to low dairy prices by winding back their output. Fonterra's milk intake for September, when production typically ramps up ahead of the peak in mid-October, was 8.7 percent below the year-earlier month, the Auckland-based cooperative said in a statement.

Fonterra CEO Theo Spierings' salary freeze offer too late, farmers say
2015-10-01 07:22:30| Food - Topix.net
Fonterra boss Theo Spierings' salary has been frozen at his own request, but he will still qualify for major bonuses on top of his salary. Spierings requested the freeze for the 2015-16 year at a meeting of the company's people, culture and safety committee on September 21. That was the same day Fonterra confirmed 230 more jobs were going, adding to the 523 staff already made redundant in July.
