A 55-year-old woman's black BMW was struck by a New Jersey Transit train near the Plauderville train station after she allegedly drove around lowered warning gates blocking the Midland Avenue crossing, authorities said. Randa Sayegh, a 55-year-old Yonkers resident, was issued a summons by New Jersey Transit police for disregarding the lowered crossing gates at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday, New Jersey Transit spokesperson Nancy Snyder said.
Police, firefighters save woman from jumping off Livermore overpass

Livermore police and firefighters grabbed a woman who was hovering over a bridge 30 feet above the Union Pacific Railroad tracks Friday before she could jump or fall from her perch outside a protective fence. Joe Testa, battalion chief of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, said police spotted the woman outside the chain link fence on the high point of the overpass on First and Scott streets.
