The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). This general motion is expected today, followed by a turn toward the northwest on Thursday and that northwestward motion continuing through Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. The depression could become a tropical storm today or tomorrow before weakening begins late Thursday.
