Functional Testing Operations AIT Engineer

As support to the JUICE Mission, you will have the opportunity to provide a functional and operation support to the Prime AIT team for preparation, execution and test result evaluation covering all activities of spacecraft testing and operation. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Engineering and preparation of the test sequences for both EM and FM spacecrafts Design of structured test concept Coding of test sequences and synoptics Autonomous execution of electrical integration Prevalidation of test sequences using a simulator based at Airbus and controlled with the STC system SC Test Center provided by Airbus Data retrieval and postprocessing Participation to the daily operations during functional tests on EM spacecraft Toulouse, FM spacecraft Friedrichshafen, environmental test campaign Europe and launch campaign Kourou Daily spacecraft operation during all kind of spacecraft tests Participation to the team meetings EGSE setup and operation Evaluation of test results and preparation of test reports Participation to failure analysis board Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in satellite AIT activities at platform level You have an extensive experience in the overall functional tests process Understanding functional test specifications Production of test concepts and automated test scripts Execution and debugging of test sequences You have good programming skills You have a good knowledge in UNIXLinuxWindows usage and administration You have a strong knowledge of automated test environment and able to manipulate EGSE SCOE You have experience of working in the ISO 5 clean room environment You have the ability to work both autonomously and in an embedded AIT team You are fluent in English written and spoken You have a good understanding of French or German is an asset How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Are you an experienced Spacecraft Operations Engineer willing to support flight operations of the Metop satellites and the development and operations preparation of future LEO satellite systems? EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 Member States, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, ocean and climate that deliver information 24 hours a day. Our data is vital to weather forecasts that enable us to protect lives and property as well as monitoring the changing climate. EUMETSAT is now developing the next generation of satellite systems, shaping its longterm future. We are inviting applications from experienced engineers keen to work with highly advanced satellite technology in a dynamic operational environment. We are recruiting for 3 positions that will provide suitable candidates the opportunity to support the preparation of operations for the future LEO satellite systems, in particular EPSMetopSecond Generation and JasonCSSentinel 6. In addition you will support routine flight operations of the existing Metop satellites. The roles are currently split into the following areas of responsibility Coordinator for OnBoard Software Management and Simulator Operations and first line Maintenance for multiple LEO missions Payload Operations Coordinator on Metop first generation and backup Coordinator for Metop Second Generation with direct responsibility for certain instruments Payload Operations Coordinator on Metop Second Generation and backup Coordinator for Metop first generation with direct responsibility for certain instruments In each of the roles you will be required to coordinate and participate in flight operations for up to three Metop satellites and up to three Sentinel3 satellites, including the organisation and execution of special operations phases. You will also be part of the on call schedule to respond to operational issues. Coordinating incident reviews and improvement activities, in close collaboration with other engineers, would be a crucial part of your role. Defining and managing support from external industry experts and interfacing with them directly and with other partner agencies in coordination meetings, reporting activities and anomaly reviews will form part of your daytoday work. In addition you will participate in launch preparation and inorbit commissioning activities for MetopC and in the development and testing of procedures and operations, getting involved in training where necessary. Along with a university degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent, you should be able to demonstrate the following significant professional experience in the field of flight operations, preferably gained during the development or operations of a LEO space system experience interfacing with external entities, coupled with good interpersonal skills ability to work in a clear, structured manner with a minimum of supervision ability to detail and synthesise complex technical concepts in formal documents and verbal presentations Evidence of personal initiative and ability to achieve results in your professional experience would be considered desirable, as would any supervisory experience. Genish named TIM general manager for operations

(Telecompaper) Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced the appointment of Vivendi's chief convergence officer Amos Genish as its new general manager for operations, confirming earlier reports. Genish previously headed Vivo, the Brazilian unit of Spain's Telefonica, a position he took following the merger of Vivo and broadband operator GVT. Co-founded by Genish, GVT was acquired by Vivendi in 2009 and then sold to Telefonica in 2014. In a statement released shortly after reporting first-half results and confirming the exit of CEO Flavio Cattaneo after just 16 months, TIM said Genish will now oversee all of the company's operations and be based in Rome. Vivendi CEO and new TIM chairman Arnaud de Puyfontaine is temporarily taking over most of Cattaneo's responsibilities.
