Dissemination Operations Engineer 1513054 Job Description We are looking for a Dissemination Operations Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT. You will work in the Dissemination Team of the Realtime Services System Operations Division of the Operations Department supporting routine operations of all EUMETSAT dissemination and encryption services, the introduction of new products, and the operations preparation phases of new dissemination services, such as for GMESCopernicus Sentinel3 and MTG. You shall provide support to the routine monitoring, development and operation of the current and future EUMETSAT dissemination systems. The duties range from the support to the operation of the various dissemination components, to the analysis, testing, and implementation of new data streams and monitoring and reporting functions. It also includes the settingup and implementation of operational procedures, and the coordination with external organisations and service providers. In particular your tasks will include Support to routine operations of the dissemination and encryption functions within the EUMETSAT Ground Segments, including performance monitoring and in the case of anomalies, the identification and application of firstline corrective actions. This task requires the provision of standby and callout support out of normal working hours Support to the operations of data encryption functions in the ground and space segment of EUMETSAT programs Control, population and operation of dissemination related databases and configuration files for both inhouse and remote systems Support to the preparation, validation and maintenance of ground segment operational procedures Support to dissemination services related training of the Control Centre Team Support in the analysis and resolution of user enquiries related to dissemination services Support to the HW and SW configuration of EUMETCast Reception Stations Support to the rollout and validation of new releases of EUMETCast Reception Station SW packages Investigation into system anomalies that impact on the data dissemination services Generation of Engineering Change Proposals to improve the operational effectiveness of the encryption and dissemination functions Support to design, implementation and verification testing of corrections and improvements Support to the validation, verification and rollout of new releases of dissemination and encryption software Coordination of the operational validation of releases and changes affecting the dissemination system Definition and implementation of dissemination service monitoring and reporting tools, and generation of related reports Support to the generation and maintenance of a products database for dissemination administration Participation in meetings and reviews. Required Skills and Experience In addition to having a University degree in a relevant discipline, you shall have minimum 5 years experience in operations or software maintenance of realtime data dissemination systems, and be familiar with DVBS satellite communications and ground segment operations. You will be able to demonstrate significant work experience on operating system level in major Linux distributions and Windows 2000, XP, Windows7. For the accomplishment of the listed tasks, knowledge and experience of the following is mandatory Computer literacy, including Configuration, installation and scripting for Linux and Windows Evaluationanalysis of systemapplication events and logs Tool based presentation of logs and results Excel etc. Monitoring of near real time data flows in large computer networks Satellite based and terrestrial data distribution systems Provision of near realtime data services in a highavailability environment 247 First and second level support in data services Interaction with endusers Coordination of system changes and interfaces with external organisations Encryption technologies, USB smart cards, TripleDES Formalised hardwaresoftwaresystem testing Configuration control. Desirable Skills and Experience DVB based receiveonly earth stations for satellite communications IP multicast data distribution systems, such as Tellicast provided by Newtec Dissemination of meteorological andor environmental products Formalised software testing XML language and tools Subversion, CVS, eclipse Encryption technologies, USB smart cards Interaction with users DVBS2 technology. Despite a disappointing second quarter for Class 1 railroads, CSX Corp was able to remain above the fray, beating analyst's earnings per share estimates by 3 cents and growing year-over-year net earnings by nearly 5 percent to $553 million. The market liked what it saw: CSX closed at $32.07 per share but jumped in afterhours trading after earnings were released, peaking at $32.29 shortly after 5 p.m. Although the company's revenue declined by 6 percent to $3.06 billion, CSX posted earnings per share of 56 cents per share.
