Role Description Summary The Controller, Spacecraft Operations has the following two main areas of contribution 1 monitor and control several GEO andor MEO satellites to ensure the safety of the assets providing the best performance to the customers and maximizing the spacecraft lifetime 2 Achieve accreditation and specialization on the ground systems and satellite platforms of relevance. Primary ResponsibilitiesKey Result Areas Operate spacecraft by approved procedures and the daily operations plan. Continuously monitor spacecraft telemetry and alarm status. Respond to alarms or anomalous conditions by using good judgment, in particular by applying the process of analyzing anomalous behaviors, identifying the cause, implementing and verifying the appropriate contingency procedure, and if necessary by calling for additional support. Reliable and accurate execution of spacecraft operating procedures. Support to coordinate the availability and use of a diverse worldwide network of operational resources. Perform special tests on behalf of engineering by an approved procedure. Originate spacecraft and equipment anomaly reports. Strive for accuracy in reporting the facts. Maintain the spacecraft operations logbook concisely and accurately. Assist in the development of schedules, logs, forms, charts, graphs, and other devices designed to provide thorough records of performance. Ensure that all displays for spacecraft operations are kept uptodate. Perform offline data analysis. Be able to create the Operations Schedule if instructed to do so specific MEO SOC. Responsible for the operational configuration of the station TTC support path. Ensure that spacecraft telemetry and command capability is always available. For MEO SOC, manage the TTC resources to track and command the satellites. Manual and Autonomous execution of maneuver burn plans Specific GEO SOC Rotate shifts on 24hour duty, 7 days per week. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager. Attend regular training sessions in order to achieve and maintain an accreditation level to perform all required functions. Minimum of five years in satellite operations and are well familiar with what it takes in operations preparation. Proven experience in software engineering to support satellite operations. Satellite mission controls systems for LEO satellite systems, especially SCOS2000. Experience in Earth Observation Missions would be a plus. Satellite Operations Engineer mfd

The candidate will provide support to the operations preparation team for the German mission Heinrich Hertz H2SAT. The candidate will contribute to the project lifecycle and eventually be a core member of the mission operations team for H2SAT, reporting directly to the mission operations manager. Your Responsibilites The successful candidate will initially work either from home, or in our Bochum or Darmstadt office. Later in the project the operations for the telecommunication mission will be run from a control center in Bonn, Germany. from appr. mid of 2022 on, and the candidate would be expected to relocate nearby. Here all mission phases preparation, launch, LEOP and Routine shall be supported. For this position, the following tasks are currently envisaged Contribute to the preparation of all the operational products required to conduct the mission, in particular the Flight Operations Procedures Participate in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Interface with the OHB operations group for spacecraft operations matters, and the CGI developers for the Pleniter system matters Assess and prepare relevant test procedures for the validation of procedures and operations during the tests between the control center and the satellite in the manufacturers premises SVTs. Assisting in the acceptance testing and validation of all the main ground segment systems being developed to support satellite operations Prepare training material and provide training to other members of the operations team. Your Qualifications The successful candidate will have A university degree in aerospace, mathematics, physics or equivalent A demonstrated and consolidated experience with more than 2 years in the field of spacecraft operations Fluency in English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage Candidates should be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team, with a high level of selfmotivation. They should be proactive and able to work autonomously. Further, the candidate must have a valid German work and residence permit or be an EU Citizen. Candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance by the German Bundeswehr andor the German BMWi.
