Steve John Meade, of Walton Road, East Molesey, contacted people advertising their vehicles for sale on car dealership websites and convinced them to sell their vehicles with him through his company Surrey Prestige Cars Ltd. Each victim signed a contact which Meade broke by selling the vehicles and not reimbursing the owners with the money. Some owners of high end cars such as Maserati, Mercedes and BMW did get some money but were still left out of pocket.

Young County's formal introduction to its new jail administrator came during the April 13 Commissioners Court meeting, but Maj. Eric Brown, who came here by way of Stephens County, has been manning the helm at the Young county Jail since March 9. The new administrator replaced Kenneth Cobb, who now runs security and transportation operations at the County Courthouse on the Graham Square.

India's Satyam founder sentenced to seven years in jail in fraud case

The founder of Satyam Computer Services, once India's fourth-largest software services firm, was sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty in an accounting fraud case that ranks as the country's biggest. A court in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, where Satyam was based, on Thursday pronounced Ramalinga Raju, a management graduate from Ohio University who founded Satyam in 1987, guilty of forging documents and falsifying accounts.

Hyderabad: A special CBI court on Thursday sentenced B. Ramalinga Raju, his two brothers and seven others to seven years in prison in the multi-crore-rupee Satyam case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.5 crore on Ramalinga Raju, the Satyam Computer Services Ltd's founder and former chairman, and his brother B. Rama Raju and Rs.20-25 lakh each on the remaining accused, a lawyer said.
