The largest soda makers in the United States promised today to cut the calories in soft drinks nationwide by 20 percent by 2025. The pledge, announced at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, follows an agreement between the American Beverage Association, an industry trade group that includes companies like Coca-Cola Co, PepsiCo Inc , and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc, and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, founded by the American Heart Association and the Clinton Foundation .

Whirlpool's Outlook Is Soft But The Price Is Attractive

In July Whirlpool announced it would buy a 60% stake in Indesit for $1 billion to further expand beyond the U.S. market. Whirlpool expects its 2014 earnings to be $11.5-11.55 per share which is a drop from its full year earnings guidance of $12-12.5 per share.
