The bloody weather - Which drinks companies will be hit hardest by a cool summer 2019? - Analysis
2019-06-13 19:08:00| Daily beverage news and comment - from just-drinks.com
Here in London, we've had a miserable June so far, weather-wise: Unseasonably cold, barely any sunshine and wetter than an otter's pocket. Indeed, as one analyst surmised today, bookmakers in the UK are slashing their odds on this month being the wettest June on record in the UK. Much of Western Europe has been battling similarly with concerning climatic conditions in recent days. So, with summer traditionally being boom-time for brewers and soft drinks producers, the second quarter of 2019 for many looks like it will throw up some tough numbers. "There's been a big consumer shift in drinks" - just-drinks speaks to Distill Ventures CEO Frank Lampen
2019-05-22 13:06:00| Daily beverage news and comment - from just-drinks.com
Since coming into being almost six years ago, Distill Ventures has continued to make headlines in the drinks industry. The Diageo-backed incubation project may be best-known for investing in Seedlip, the non-alcoholic spirits brand. The biggest break, however, came late last year, when Diageo brought Belsazr Vermouth on to its books after the German brand was backed by DV in 2014. Earlier this month, Olly Wehring sat down with co-founder & CEO Frank Lampen to find out more about Distill Ventures and its relationship with thelargest premium spirits company in the world.
