We are currently looking for a Document and Configuration Management Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Document and Configuration Management DM CM Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As support to the Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office, you will have, among others, the following responsibilities Implement the applicable DM and CM plans, processes and working practices. Regularly review and propose improvements on those documents Deliver support to a wide range of users and training sessions on applicable DM and CM procedures Ensure that all incoming and outgoing Copernicus documentation is managed according to applicable EUMETSAT working practices Support the identification of the configuration items software, hardware and documents to be managed during Copernicus operations and buildup operations activities Support the administration of the Anomaly and Change Control Boards Liaise, coordinate and organise with external partners joint configuration boards Ensure that any new item version is deployed only after the formal review and approval of the related change Support the monitoring and control of hardware and software installation activities. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent Extensive proven work experience in the specific field of DM and CM, including build, deployment and installation activities on large softwareintensive highavailability operational systems DM and CM standards e.g. CMMI, ISO or ECSS DM tools as basic administration or advanced user e.g. Oracle UCM CM tools as basic administration or advanced user e.g. Serena Dimensions or Clearcase Use of SQL queries Systemsoftware development processes and methodologies Practical experience with scripting languages e.g. vb.net, source code control tools CVS, Subversion , software development environments on UNIX Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. We are looking to further enhance our team by Configuration and Documentation Management Senior Engineer You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 1 year may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks The Configuration Management and Documentation Management Engineer shall perform Configuration Management and Documentation Management tasks in support to the Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office and to the Copernicusrelated missions, at first Sentinel3 and Jason3 and at a later stage Sentinel4, SentinelS and Jason CSSentinel6 covering the routine operations phase, including the associated operations buildup phase. She shall perform following main tasks Implement the applicable Configuration Management and Documentation Management plans, processes and working practices, regularly review and propose improvements on those documents Identify all relevant configuration items software, hardware and documents to be managed during Copernicus routine operations, register those items in the CM and DM databases as appropriate, tracking any new version Ensure that all incoming and outgoing Copernicus documentation is managed according to applicable working practices, including storing and registering in the Documentation Management database and timely releasingdistributing to relevant recipients Control all changes impacting identified configuration items through all defined staged lifecycle steps, in particular ensure that any new item version is deployed only after the formal review and approval of the related change Administrate as required the Anomaly and Change Control Boards regularly organised to review and approve anomaly correction and changes to configuration baselines Monitor and control the hardware and software installation activities, and the deployment of satellite, system or ground segments operational documentation procedures into the relevant controlled areas Keep up to date the mapping between changes including anomalies and software, hardware and document items, together with the mapping between software and hardware items Liaise, coordinate and organise with external operations partners the joint configuration and documentation when and where relevant On demand, develop reporting or monitoring tools to help controlling the consistency and accuracy of the CM and DM databases Timely prepare and present Configuration Status Accounting Reports and documentation reports, as necessary Contribute to the detailed specification of CM or DM tool improvements, and participate to the testing of related new releases Perform configuration and documentation inspections or audits, as planned and whenever requested Your Profile In addition to having a University degree in Computer Science, the key person shall have a minimum of five years experience in the specific field of Configuration Management, including build, deployment and installation processes on large softwareintensive high availability operational systems. The following mandatory skills are required Configuration and Documentation Management standards e.g. CMMI, ISO or ECSS Configuration Management tools as administrator or advanced user e.g. Serena Dimensions, Clearcase... Documentation Management tools as advanced user e.g. Oracle UCM Databases programmingSQL Oracle or Sybase Scripting languages e.g. Python, Perl, Javascript or vb.net And more generally with software development processes and methodologies. Practical experience with source code control tools CVS, Subversion ... and with software development environments on UNIX will be considered as assets. The key person shall also have demonstrated very good communication and team working skills be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, in particular when applying the applicable Documentation and Configuration Management standards and providing support to a wide range of users be able to work calmly under stress with the minimum of supervision. The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
