Option bypasses standard notched settings on scale by using worm gear and threaded rod design. To change linear pitch, operator turns knob on end of threaded rod; pitch indicator moves along scale as knob is turned. While standard control lever limits pitch adjustability to notched settings, worm gear option permits infinitely adjustable pitch throughout 10:1 range.
