Pulling no punches, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US slammed a racketeering lawsuit filed yesterday calling it "nothing more than the product of two disgruntled dealers who have failed to perform their obligations under agreements they signed with FCA U.S." Tuesday, the Napleton Auto Group , an automotive dealer chain with more than 50 stores in four states, filed suit in U.S. District Court in Chicago, alleging sales falsification, strong-arm tactics, and other actions. The dealerships named in the suit include the auto group's Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM dealerships in Arlington Heights, Ill., and in Lake Park, Fla.

Fiat Chrysler Unit Accused of Racketeering to Falsify Sales

A Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV unit was accused of racketeering in a federal lawsuit filed by two related auto dealerships that say the company offered dealers money to falsify sales. Fellow dealers were paid to report false sales on the last day of the month and then cancel the sales the next day, according to the Jan. 12 lawsuits against FCA US LLC, the company's North American unit.
