Hulu introduces ad-free streaming option
2015-09-03 08:31:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) US VoD service Hulu is introducing a new ad-free subscription to its streaming service. Hulu will be available commercial-free for USD 11.99 per month or with limited commercials for USD 7.99 per month. Current Hulu subscribers will maintain their existing subscription, but will have the choice to switch to the commercial-free option at any time for an additional USD 4 per month. Hulu said it will continue to show fewer commercials than scheduled television. The new subscription tier follows a steady increase in Hulu's content, from recent TV shows to more films and full libraries of popular older programmes such as Seinfeld and South Park. Hulu also offers video on-demand service from Showtime for an additional USD 8.99 per month and is producing its own original content. The service has nearly 9 million US subscribers.
