Crown Castle considers sale of Australian operations

(Telecompaper) Mobile towers operator Crown Castle announced it's considering a sale of its Australian subsidiary, after receiving unsolicited offers for the company. US-based Crown Castle owns 77.6 percent of CCAL, the largest independent tower operator in Australia. It entered the Australian market in 2000, acquiring towers first from Optus and later from Vodafone and Hutchison. The Australian company contributes around 4-5 percent of Crown Castle's estimated annual EBITDA.

Nelson Peltz ' Trian Partners trimmed its stake in Family Dollar Stores, Inc. by more than 6 million shares. According to the 13D Form filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, the investment firm now owns around 2.3 million Common Shares, which represent just a little over 2% of the company's outstanding stock.

Crown Castle Upside Seen In 'Small Cell' Expansion

Crown Castle stock hit an all-time high in the stock market today for the second straight day, after the company reported earnings late Wednesday. Shares of Houston-based Crown Castle were up 1.8% in afternoon trading, near 86.79, after rising 4.8% on Thursday, clearing a consolidation going back to late October.
