Orange ready to drop EU roaming charges - report
2014-01-22 09:48:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Orange group CEO Stephane Richard told staff at Orange Spain that the company has changed its policy on European mobile roaming after fighting European Commission-led changes to gradually reduce trans-border roaming prices. "We want to be the first European operator to offer completely European communications everywhere we are present", he declared. Orange plans to announce the change in a few months. According to the report from French paper Les Echos, the company's "Monsier Roaming", Benoit Scheen, head of Orange's European activities outside France, is in charge of the process that may see Orange charge nearly the same for calls between its international affiliates as for national calls.

Please, Microsoft, dont put Windows XP to sleep on April 8 the world isnt ready yet!
2014-01-20 17:49:19| Extremetech
On April 8 2014, almost thirteen years after it was first released, Windows XP will finally breathe its last breath and die -- officially, anyway. From that date, Microsoft will no longer support the inveterate OS, meaning instability bugs and security vulnerabilities will go forever unpatched. With Windows XP's desktop market share still around 30%, and many enterprises still months or years away from upgrading to Windows 7/8, these unsupported and insecure machines represent a serious risk to the health and security of the internet and other high-tech infrastructure. If just a single zero-day vulnerability is found after April 8, it will never be fixed. There's no telling what damage cybercriminals might sow with such an exploit.
